Round 4 – The final round! (and Michele is gone too quickly)

Okay, so Michele’s gone and I’m heartbroken.
Ben and I drowned my sorrows tonight at an Indian restaurant and an izakaya (Japanese bar/restaurant). So, without preface, here is the FINAL (add echo here) set of pictures. Choose wisely.
While posting, I was listening to Svefn-g-englar from the album “Agætis Byrjun” by Sigur Ros.

We vote for #2 & #6. Can’t wait to hear who took our favorite photos!

so i’m not being swayed by michele even though she’s back and letting me know who I voted for previously. Far and away, #6 is the most intriguing to look at, though i like how there’s something haunting about the light in #1 – all of these look so much better if you click to enlarge.
But #6 takes my vote – I love that there’s this pattern on the ground that you can see thru the people like they’re ghosts. Oh I want to go to japan and play w/cameras, waah.

#1, Chairs.
Luckily, Michele emailed me four times about the competition, so here’s my input.
The runner-up, a photo of Marc in the bar after Michele got on the plane, a bowl of salted soybeans alongside his Sapporo.
Hope it was a good visit, it certainly looked that way from the photos.

out of the photos posted for round 4 i’d have to go with #6 and then #2 following a close second. #6 is artsy looking and seeign I’m an artists i have to vote for this sort of stuff. #2 is very pretty. It makes me think of pictures of the rose planitarium at the natural history museum, eventhough the two buildings look nothing alike except for the lighting.
i can’t wait to see who the master photographer is!!!

#6.
Despite the fact that every time I look at it I start singing Madonna’s “Ray of Light” to myself, I like the implication of motion, and, apropos of Japan, the accent on the fleeting nature of life, and the beauty of that impermanence.
Plus, I bet #6 was an accident. Extra points for the happy accident.

not that it’s a chore, but after several requests by ms. medlin, i cast my vote. trrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr (that’s the universally recognized spelling of a drumroll). #6. i just like it.
