Mobile fun…

To start the picture pages, here are some mobile shots. Yes, those are three different salarymen on three different nights. They were all on the same train, Osaka’s “Loop Line,” and those three pictures were all taken on a weekend night. “CleanPoo” was on an air-conditioner. Note the 8,500Yen peach and Xylish, the “hyper cool” gum. “Feeley-Meeley” was a board game.

What is the dollar value for that lovely peach wearing the dainty white bonnet?
Do all fruits in Japan wear hats?

Seems the only difference between the way these Salary-men act and me is they at least have a salary to support their drinking habit.

Baizman you’re an artist. That guy on the floor just kills me. I have seen a guy in this advanced state only once since I’ve been in Japan, and actually, it kind of happened like the progression you’ve arranged here: first he was just asleep – totally unremarkable. Then he slumped over – okay, he’s letting his hair down a little more than the average commuter. Then he kind of melted down onto the floor – we approach the “public nuisance” zone. Then he just sprawled out, spread-eagled, on the floor. The way I luxuriate on a big, double-king-size hotel bed, this guy luxuriated on the subway floor. It was truly awesome. And then, as if to reinforce that he was no longer interested in the world, his cell phone started ringing, loudly, and for 10 solid minutes the thing was blasting away, until another commuter kindly picked him up and somehow figured out his train stop, then poured him out when we got there. Wow, man, I went all the way through college without ever being _that_ drunk.

Ditto Ben’s comments on the salarymen…reminds me of the drunks riding the #1 North Lamar bus all night in Austin! What a riot!
